2019 email updates through 9/3

Good afternoon XC folks!  I hope everyone had restorative three day weekend.  It was a busy one for the runners (and those of you who chauffeur and support them) with a stacked invitational on Saturday night and a road race on Monday morning!  I'm super proud of everyone's efforts.  We had some fantastic PR's Saturday, and I was overwhelmed by our huge showing at yesterday's community event.  This program has tremendous momentum right now!!!  Linked below are the results and coverage for both -

Moving forward -
This is new meet for us, and I'm super excited to get to race here as it's put on by my good friend (former assistant Coach, Charlie Adams at Tates Creek HS).  The course is fast, and it's a perfect XC venue.  Address is 3051 Leestown Rd, Lexington, KY 40511, and it'll take a little over an hour to get there.  As always, warmup starts :45 minutes prior to start time.
10:45 Girls Varsity - Alyssa, Caroline, Tori, Olivia,
11:15 Boys Varsity - Lane, Ethan, Nolan, Jackson, Cameron
11:45 Girls JV - Cassidy, Maddie, Carly, America, Abby, Kyra
12:20 Boys JV - Jonah, Sam, Trey

5:30 MS combined, 6:00 HS girls, 6:45 HS boys

Also, be sure to keep up with our 2019 Season Times (bright blue is a lifetime PR and light blue is a season best or SB) - lots to celebrate!!!

Good afternoon XC family.  Thank you all so much for contributing to making our first meet of the year such a success.  I reiterated at practice yesterday how grateful I am for our entire XC family, and how the kids need to be thanking you'all.  Parents are out here working for these kids, and that's what makes our program strong.  We got some press in the Prep Roundup today in the KY Standard - https://www.kystandard.com/sports

Results are linked below.

1401 West Park Road, Elizabethtown KY
Athletes need to be on site ready to start their warmup :45 prior to their race.  This venue is awesome and unlike Tiger Run, parking and finding our tent is typically pretty easy.  They do charge a $5 parking fee so have some cash.
JV boys 7:15 (Jonah, Sam, Trey), JV girls 8:00 (Cassidy, America, Molly, Carly, Abby, Kyra), V boys 8:45 (Lane, Ethan, Nolan, Cameron, Jackson), V girls 9:30 (Alyssa, Caroline, Tori, Olivia)

Monday, 9/2 Labor Day 5k/10k.  8:00 start
We will have a terrific showing at this event (I'll have about a dozen of my other family members coming as well).  That said, I've registered about 36 people at this point, and we're really fortunate that Coach Bradley gives us such a nice discount.  Plan to get there early so you handle packet pick-up and to get warmed up.

This is new meet for us and is a change on the original schedule as I had the Iron Horse 5k on the wrong date.  I'm super excited to get to race here as it's put on by my good friend (and former assistant Coach, Charlie Adams at Tates Creek HS).  The course is fast, and it's a perfect XC venue.

Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe long weekend.

Good soggy Monday morning XC family.  I can't begin to fit in one email all the accolades from this Saturday's Tiger Run.  We had kids running personal records in the first meet of the year (many just off PR's), had kids drop 5 or more minutes from last year's Tiger Run, and the coolest thing - saw multiple kiddos knock out their first 5k!  We are super proud of all of them.  Now looking ahead -

Wednesday, 8/28 Weeknight Warfare All-comers here at TNHS.
Middle school boys and girls 5:30, high school girls 6:00, high school boys 6:40
We will need all hands to chip in Wednesday night.  Our venue is one of the best around, and we're known for hosting great meets.  Please come out and help.  Concessions will open at 4:45 and I'll be training our finish line crew and assigning course workers at 5:00.  I'll also need one responsible person to drive the gator for all three races.

Saturday, 8/31 Central KY Run For The Gold @ E'town Sports Park
JV boys 7:15, JV girls 8:00, V boys 8:45, V girls 9:30 (those are PM, races are super cool and under the lights!)

Labor Day 5k/10k @ Nelson County HS
This is an open road race that Coach Bradley and NCXC host.  Our kids get in for $10.  I've texted our group asking for name, age and shirt size for those that are coming to run.  If, by chance, you get this email and haven't responded, please do so ASAP.  Anyone is welcome to come run or walk in this community event.  It's a great race, you'll be supporting NCXC and you get a cool shirt!

this document is where we track our progress throughout the season.  I've kept last year's sheet on it as well.  PR's are highlighted in blue.  We had so many great starts to the year!

Result, photos and more -

See you'all Wednesday -

Good afternoon XC family.  Thank you all for your patience as the heat index wreaked havoc on our practices the last couple of days.  Monday, we had to pivot moments before the kids were about to start their run.  Then, yesterday's scramble to get word to everyone during 7th period actually went pretty smoothly.  As always, I appreciate your flexibility.

9/7 and 9/14 SCHEDULE CHANGE!
Thank you to Macy Spalding for catching that our Iron Horse Festival date was wrong on our schedule.  It has been the weekend following Labor Day for the last few years - this year it is 9/14.  The changes are reflected on the schedule linked.
9/7 Bluegrass Invitational, Masterson Station Park, Lexington
9/14 Iron Horse Festival 5k Road Race, we host at New Haven School.

Today, 8/21 - Popsicle Race #2 at Bardstown Athletic Complex at 1345 Templin Ave.  Our kids will have regular practice, and then they are welcome to come out and run with our young Renegade runners.  We do not, however, have to handle registration and other duties like we do when we host here at TNHS.

Saturday, 8/24 - St. X Tiger Run, Champions Park (the old River Road Country Club).  We will be set up on the edge of River Road just off the start field.  There is a large tent city and many tents lining River Road.  We will be near the start line.  The warm-up for runner begins 45 minutes prior to their start.  This venue take a little while to park and walk in to so plan accordingly.

9:30 Boys Varsity - Lane, Ethan, Nolan, Cameron, Jackson
10:10 Girls Varsity - Alyssa, Caroline, Tori, Olivia, Carly, Emma
10:50 Boys B - Jonah, Trey, Sam
11:30 Girls B - Maddie, America, Molly, Abby, Cassidy, Kyra,

Wednesday, 8/28 - Weeknight Warfare All-comers, we host at TNHS!!!  This is great meet and we will need all hands on deck to help with timing, course and finish line logistics, concession stand etc.
