TNHSXC 8/30 update

Good evening TNHSXC family.  Tomorrow is our first meet of the season and the course looks awesome.  Big thanks to the guys that helped mark it today.  We will need a lot of help tomorrow in a few different spots.

First is at the finish line.  I will have the timer, and we have an official.  Beyond that we have - Christy Edlin reading off numbers and Stephanie Ballard afer 6:00.  We still need a number recorder and at least four people to work the chute.

Next is concessions.  With enough help, middle school parents can step out for a minute while the first race is going on, then come back to relieve the high school girl parents so they can see the 6:00 race.  We won't have really big crowds like we have at track meets or at the Hillbilly Run.

Beyond that, having a few folks out on the course is really beneficial.  Please, please, please come and contribute!

Saturday, 9/3 - Run for the Gold (E'town Sports Park)
This meet has been a Labor Day weekend tradition since its inception three years ago.  Varsity races are under the lights - it's awesome!  We are now not running middle schoolers as almost none of them could come.  Please continue to let me know which of you cannot make it.  So far I know Andrew and Clay are out.

Labor Day, 9/5 - NDurance Labor Day 5k/10k (at Nelson County High School)
This is an open road race that anyone can run in.  It's a fantastic community event, and I hope that our families are out in force.  This year, as well as benefiting our friends at NCXC, the race will make a donation to the Pinkston family to help offset Randy's medical expenses during his cancer treatment.   For those kids already competing two days prior in E'town, it'll be run as nice hard tempo run. (experienced high schoolers will be encouraged to join me in running the 10k).

Let's come together in full support of these kids tomorrow - Weeknight Warfare!

Matt
