TNHSXC Summer Update

Good evening TNHS  family.  Hope everyone is enjoying their summers.  We're about to enter the KHSAA Dead Period and a hiatus from "organized" running and communication between coaches and athletes and parents.

Kudos to those kids that have been coming out and putting in the work the last few weeks.  Summer running is key to success in October.  Marcus, Isaac, Lane, Ethan, Zack, Sierra, Devan and Jensen have at least been seen training and I'm super appreciative of their commitment.  The rest of you?  Hope you're running.  If not, get off the couch!

To demonstrate just how special this team's potential is, I've pasted a screenshot of the all-time XC leaderboards.  Notice all of the athletes highlighted in yellow are potential returners.  This is not even taking into account new recruits, improving JV runners or our middle schoolers moving up.  This can be a spectacular season, but it will take all of you!

Again, the training schedule is attached, but don't let the specificity of "workouts" sway you.  As a default, always just build base by running easy miles, building up slowly in duration.

KHSAA Dead Period June 24 - July 9

July 8, Nelson Co. 4H AgDays 5k - See images of flyers attached.  I'll be helping out with timing, but you can come and run without violating dead period rules.  Please come out and support this great organization.

Running Camp - July 10-14, 9-Noon daily
The XC programs of Thomas Nelson, Nelson County, Bardstown and Bethlehem are proud to bring this opportunity to the young people of our area. Camp sessions are from 9-12:00, July 10th - 14th. Cost per camper is $35 payable upon arrival at orientation. With further questions contact matt.hoyes@nelson.kyschools or josh.hartlage@bardstown.kyschools.

The following two links are living documents that outline our entire XC season of training and racing.  Don't wait til tomorrow.  Run today.  And tomorrow!

Enjoy your next two weeks.  I'll see you'all at Camp.
